A powerful earthquake struck Nepal in 2015, claiming over 9,000 lives, injuring 20,000, and displacing 2 million people. The destruction was widespread, impacting both remote mountain villages and urban centers. IFA deployed in coordination with the IDF to support the Nepalese people. IFA developed targeted programs to deliver direct aid to marginalized communities—including those from the lower castes. While most international aid was blocked from reaching these groups due to roadblocks, IFA found alternative pathways to ensure that life-saving supplies and care reached those who would have otherwise been left behind.
IFA provided direct medical care to 420 individuals in affected communities. To support long-term recovery, we distributed 12 tons of corrugated iron sheets, enabling 181 families (totaling 1,081 people) to repair and rebuild their homes. In addition, we supplied 3 tons of rice, providing essential nutrition to 600 people during the critical immediate post-disaster period.
A catastrophic earthquake struck Haiti in 2010, leveling the capital city of Port-au-Prince and affecting millions. The devastation left over 200,000 dead, 300,000 injured, and 1.5 million people displaced.
A catastrophic cyclone struck the Irrawaddy Delta, destroying millions of homes. With the country under military junta rule, foreign aid organizations were barred from entering, leading to a dramatic rise in the death toll.
In war-torn Kashmir, a devastating winter earthquake killed tens of thousands and displaced millions. IFA carried out a covert cross-border mission to deliver life-saving aid to civilians on both sides, despite political barriers.
